The term e-learning incorporates 'all learning facilitated and supported through the use of information and communications technology'. Ultimately the effective use of ICT and e-learning can impact on results.
The DfES e-strategy: Harnessing Technology: Transforming Learning and Children's Services (2005) states that evidence suggests that where ICT is used effectively, lessons are better taught and learners get better results. WBL providers vary in size and in the resources available to them. Consortia of WBL providers are a means of addressing issues shared by the collective through providing a stronger representation of the sector to partners.
